Failed to renew the IP address for the virtual interface

Sonicwall VPN

When the user tries to enable the VPN, it just stays at connecting. When you view the Log there is an entry that says "Failed to renew the IP address for the virtual interface"

Double-click to get the properties of the connection.  Click on the Peers tab, highlight your connection and click Edit.  On the NAT Traversal drop-down box, set it to Disabled.  On the Interface drop-down box, set it to LAN.  OK out of all the menu's.  Disable your connections and then enable.

Error installing Global VPN Client

When you uninstall GVP and try and install it again you can get the following error "It appears that you've uninstalled the Sonicwall Global VPN Client. You need to reboot your computer before setup can proceed." Posted this becuase I only found the solution on one website which I had to translate from French
  1. Uninstall GVC through Control Panel> Add / Remove Programs in Windows.
  2. Run the GVC Cleaner tool. Run the GVC Cleaner tool.
  3. Remove your network adapters (both wired and wireless) from Control Panel>Network Connections in Windows.
  4. Remove your network adapters (both wired and wireless) from Device Manager
  5. Reboot
  6. XP should automatically find and install the network devices. If not ddd your network adapters back to Windows through Control Panel > Network Connections.
