I'm not sure if this is related to Firefox, but I had a firefox user who started to get a prompt to download a HTML each time she tried to open a mail message.
It transipred that it had something to do with the "Microsoft Outlook Social Connector". To disable this try the following;
- Open Outlook in safe mode (click on the shortcut while you hold down Ctrl key)
- Check you can open mail fine.
- If you can go to File/Options/Add-ins.
- Make sure tha the Manage: on the bottom is set to COM Add-ins, then click Go....
- Deselect "Microsoft Outlook Social Connector"
- Restart Outlook normally and all should be well.
